One evening, when the family wanted to go to bed after a cosy get-together, the father suddenly felt very bad. He felt severe pain in the chest area. An ambulance was called immediately, but any help came too late. The doctors could only determine death. Everything else passed like in a dream: the visits of relatives, friends and the funeral service. The widow broke her heart. It was so unexpected, so sudden. The words from Psalm 23:4 give her a sense of stability in this tribulation:
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me."
These words are topical and give the widow and her children Diana (16), Vika (14) and Mark (10) strength to go on and put their trust in God.
